As of February 26, the total number of CRE trains entering and leaving the country via the eastern corridor since the beginning of the year reached 1,034, transporting 105,170 TEUs, representing year-on-year increases of 48.4% and 43.2% respectively. The milestone of 1,000 trains was achieved 26 days earlier than in 2025.
The eastern corridor of the CRE train consists of three major railway ports—Manzhouli, Suifenhe and Tongjiang. It currently operates 27 stable routes, reaching 14 countries including Poland, Germany and the Netherlands and connecting more than 60 domestic cities such as Changsha, Zhengzhou and Chengdu.
Since the beginning of the year, with the continuous growth in cross-border transport volume, railway authorities have prioritized CRE train operations. By leveraging the “digital port” intelligent system and strengthening coordination with customs and border inspection authorities, as well as optimizing broad-gauge train reception processes and upgrading vehicle inspection technologies, the minimum customs clearance time at ports has been reduced to within 30 minutes. Overall transport efficiency has improved by nearly 10%, effectively enhancing port operation efficiency.
