To cope with peak passenger flows during the Spring Festival, railway authorities precisely allocated transport capacity. On major high-speed railway corridors such as the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway and Shanghai-Kunming High Speed Railway, more than 1,000 night high-speed railway trains were operated daily. On popular routes, up to 2,314 additional temporary passenger trains were added in a single day, making “traveling a thousand miles within one day” a normal experience.
